I think that art has helped heal me by giving me quiet and a peacefulness that soothes my soul. I have painted more than 20 landscapes and tactile abstract works in acrylic. I am also starting to explore portrait painting. I work from photographs that I am able to enlarge on my ipad for accuracy. I love mixing and matching colours for a dramatic affect that gives emotion to the painting. My mentor is a graduate of Bishop University of Sherbrooke Quebec. I am still finding my own style but this new journey feels right – for now!
I am proud to have represented Canada for over 15 years, winning 7 Paralympic Games podium medals, in 2 sports, from 3 Paralympic Games (2000, 2004, 2010). I also earned World Cups, World Championship titles, and am honoured with a variety of awards for my sport career. I am also grateful to have travelled the world doing what I love, sports
As a public speaker my message is clear as I share my journey to the podiums, school experience as someone with a disability, and the challenges eneded to be a high performance athlete competing for Canada.
My journey to healing is on-going and this has also become a topic of interest for many organisations.
The comprehensive courses and hands-on projects have transformed my understanding of data science. The engaging community and expert guidance are priceless.
